HISTORY REWRITTEN
The region of Lisbon, previously known as Estremadura, is located northwest of Lisbon in an area of about 40 km. The climate is temperate by virtue of Atlantic influence. The summers are cool and the winters are mild, although the most distant areas of the sea are a little colder.

Achieving various awards in both international and Portuguese wine competitions, the quality of our brand Porão Velho (both red and white) is certainly certified by the highest standards.
STEADY EVOLUTION
Encosta da Vila Sociedade Agrícola Lda, is located in the Lisboa wine producing region. Under the influence of the Atlantic ocean, the diversity of its landscape has the perfect conditions to produce grapes of outstanding quality.
Since early 2013, Encosta da Vila has concentrated its activity in the production and marketing of wine.
VINTAGE GRAPES
Using the finest Portuguese grape varieties such as Arinto (white), Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional (reds) blended with the international Syrah we produce full bodied wines with exceptional aromatic quality.

Start developed a new range of high quality Portuguese wines that will bring a fresh look to the category, the Vintage Porão Velho , Red Wine Reserve .

2015
Vintage Porão Velho White Wine
Launch of the Vintage Porão Velho Arinto White Wine.
In the Vinhos region, it is commonly known as Pedernã. Arinto being the Portugal’s oldest indigenous ranges, with a tradition in the Bucelas region, has spread to most wine regions, due to its adaptability to various terrains and climates.
Arinto is big, compact bunches, made of medium-sized yellowish berries that are grown and cultivated in just every wine region in Portugal, but occurs to be the most readily available wine from the regions around the Lisbon area, and including Terras do Sado Estremadura, Tejo, and Alentejo.

2016
Porão Velho Rose Wine & Penafirme slightly sparkling wine first batch production.
Launch of the Vintage Porão Velho Rose Wine and Penafirme slightly sparkling wine, for young people who seem to favor “simple, fresh and socializing” wines, more direct and with less wood.


2017
Porão Velho Vintage Wine rebranding
It was carried out the rebranding of the Porão Velho Vintage Wine and and enhanced our dynamic in overseas markets.

2018
João Santarém Reserve Red Wine
In one of the most important wine regions of Portugal, where the small farming predominated, was born in the 70’s, the prestigious wine of the João de Santarém grape.
Today continues to make history for its quality and tradition.

2018
Vinho das Linhas , Torres Vedras D.O.C
This secular wine was born in the “Lines of Towers”, elaborated from the castes Castelão, Aragonez and Syrah.
It is a garnet colored wine, with aroma of red fruits, full bodied, soft with the perfectly integrated wood which gives it a complex nish with elegance and persistence.

Turres Veteras , Torres Vedras D.O.C
The Roman wine-growing in Lusitania was differentiated with the choice of grape varieties that better adapted to the climate and the soil, resulting in this unique wine.
Turres Veteras DOC ,represents the wines of the Roman presence with its light red garnet color, with well defined aromas of red fruits, which give it a full and velvety flavor, with a persistent and pleasant finish.
